Toch even aan herinneren dat het vandaag 60 jaar geleden is dat het ardennenoffensief is begonnen. We vergeten teveel dat duizenden amerikaanse jongeren gestorven zijn in en rond bastogne voor ons. In putjes in zomeruitrusting vochten ze tegen de duitsers in een temperatuur van -20 graden tegen een overmacht van 1 tegen 9. Ik kan iedereen de boeken van Donald R. Burgett aanraden, één van de weinige overlevenden van het 101e airborne (screaming eagle) die in vier boeken zijn memoires opschreef van D-Day tot het einde van de oorlog oa ardennenoffensief.

Waar gij er bij Question


I celebrated D-Day+60 with my brother in Normady this year. You can always check out my pics at [ D-Day+60 ], click on D-Day+60 of course. I quickly realized that it is not as far back in history as I might have thought it to be. Felt quite close in the past while I was there.

Thanks for the compliment. Always nice for the amateur photography ego.

I just need to find a good way to post them on internet where you don't always break your neck looking sideways. Seemed to be really the trend for that weekend.
